Birthday Girl!

Happy First Birthday to my princess Gabriella! I can't believe she is already a year old and has been home 6 1/2 months.

Now, apparently, when one turns a year old, it is a signal to become a major DIVA(yes, more than usual)!!!! She has been in quite the mood today! First, my mom, Sarah and I took her to get her pictures taken. Lets just say, the photo shoot was cut short. She was soooo not in the mood. We did manage to get a few good ones, but she was certainly not her happy, smiley self in front of the camera.

We then went to lunch at Bahama Breeze where the 'tude continued with a vengeance. Oh my..... The coconut pineapple martini I had was the only thing that saved it!!

TGIF!!

I didn't take a whole lot of pictures this week for obvious reasons. We are finally healthy(I think). Though Gabriella did still have a nasty diaper blowout yesterday which meant me washing everything in the crib from the bumpers to the sheets to the stuffed animals - twice! She had played around in the crib after her nap and didn't fail to traverse a single inch of the crib. UGH. After she got scrubbed down, the tub got scrubbed, the crib wiped down with Lysol wipes and I got scrubbed down, everyone was happy. After all the laundry this week, I can't wait to see the water bill.

Gabriella was playing with the border strip from the playmat and Bing was on the other side of the glass going crazy trying to get to it! Every time she'd fling it around, he would jump at it. I missed the perfect photo of him in action.

Back in the Land of the Living

Well, Gabriella recovered pretty quickly from her little bug other than still being fussy on wanting to eat. But, she passed it on to mommy. Why is it that everytime she gives me something it's at least 10 times worse than what she has??? This might have been in the magnitude of 100 times. I had to call Ferdy to come home from work Monday after lunch and this morning is my first time out of bed. If I wasn't positive I would have embarrassed myself in the waiting room, I would have gone to the Urgent Care center Monday night to get a shot of something for the vomiting(my dr called and said there wasn't anything over the counter to take and that was my option for relief as it was after hrs). But, I couldn't sit up, so I stayed home and suffered. Not the way to lose weight(4 lbs in a day and half!!).

Ferdy thankfully didn't get it and I hope he makes it through.

So, hopefully I'll get some pics today or tomorrow and return to our regularly scheduled programming.

Only a couple of pictures today and a sick baby

So, we're dealing with our first bout of the icky sick with Gabriella. We've been so fortunate so far that we haven't had any of this until now. She has thrown up a couple of times(sometime overnight last night was the first time) and had a couple of nasty diaper blowouts today. We had to take her straight to the tub after the one this evening - yuck is all I have to say. She really doesn't want to eat much of anything and didn't drink much formula. So, I got some Pedialyte(well, a different brand, but same thing) and just gave her that at bedtime because I'm worried about her getting dehydrated. She didn't pee much today. I will check on her sometime in the middle of the night(sigh.. the first time I've had to go in there in the middle of the night) because I want to make sure she isn't covered in poop. Hopefully, I can get in there without waking her up unless I have to clean her up.

Through it all, she really has still been smily and in a good mood today. So, I'm not too worried yet. As long as I can get some liquid in her and a little food, hopefully she'll feel better soon. We'll see how she feels tomorrow.

A Whole Lotta Cuteness!!!

Yesterday, Gabriella and I went over to Corey's house and we got to spend the afternoon with 4 other Guatemamas(and a couple of Guatepapas) and their babes. We had such a fun time finally getting to meet everyone after following their blogs.

We got to meet Corey and Luke, Amy and Isabella and Gabrielle, Shelby and Breahna and Farrah and Madisyn.

It was so much fun watching the babies just play and play and interact. Gabriella was overwhelmed at first with so many other kids and the noise. But, by the end of the day, she had settled in and was having fun.

I've been thinking of getting Gabriella this zebra. She's still a little young for it, but I think she would really enjoy it in a couple of months.

We decided there was just no way in this universe we'd be able to get a pic of just the kids together as that would require them being in one spot for more than 1/2 a second. So, we took group shots of the moms and babes.

Ok, all you bloggers. Here is something that might interest you. I know I've seen people asking whether there is a way to save your blog. I know I've thought about it and have concerns that if Blogger were to go poof, so would my blog and all of the memories. I want to save it for Gabriella to have someday. I want her to be able to go back and look at what our journey to her was like and my thoughts along the way. Not to mention the wonderful comments so many have left.

And of course, while electronic format is cool, good old-fashioned hands-on stuff is still neat to have.

So, without further ado, here's a link that might have the answers for everyone looking to have a permanent record of their blog in book format:

I haven't tried it yet, so I can't really vouch for how it works out. But, the prices seem pretty reasonable to me to have a nice hard-cover book of your blog. It also says you can edit it as much as you want.

So, this is definitely on my list of projects(sigh... like all of the albums I haven't even started). I just need to decide when a good cutoff would be to save it off. Her 1st birthday, 1st anniversary home????
