One, Two, Three Smile!

Gabriella is so fascinated with cameras lately. If we go past the camera section of a store, she says "picture, picture"(her version of the word anyway which sounds more like picky) over and over.

So, I bought her a play camera. She carried it around all day today. She comes over and says "One, Two, Three.... Smile!" It's so stinking cute.

No, she didn't grow a tail. That's poor Bing under her.

Tell me he's not the most patient cat ever???? At one point today, I was sitting with my back to her and turned around to find she had climbed on the table to sit on him.

Little Miss Personality

This is classic Miss G. Got her cell phone, purse and sunglasses and she's ready to roll.

Hmmmm, let me check my voice mail. I get a lot of calls from my adoring fans you know.

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. And to any moms waiting on their child to come home, I know how difficult it is and I hope they are home very soon.

My thoughts today more than ever are on Gabriella's birthmother and how grateful I am for the loving choice she made that made me a mother.

I had a nice relaxing day today. We went to church and then came home and had lunch and some pool time.

Getting a picture with everyone looking good proved to be quite elusive.

There's a lady in church that trains puppies to be guide dogs and there's always one in church. Gabriella wasn't too sure about her as the puppy was a little excited today.

I love this picture of Gabriella and Grandma.

Take one.

Take two.

Take three. As good as it gets.

All ready to go swimming. Too bad this suit was too big and didn't work out. I'm still searching for something that will give her freedom but keep her floating upright.

Enjoying her sand table. She just loves this thing. She really doesn't use the water part of it much, but loves pouring the sand back and forth.

FFF - Mommy & Me

Sarah's FFF them this week is mommy and me. I realized that I really don't have very many pictures of just Gabriella and I, especially recent ones. I need to change that.

Here are a some that I dug up. I couldn't pick just one or two.

Meeting my baby girl for the first time.

Oh and since we're talking about being a mom, I have to add this to this post. Click here to see a contest that The Today Show and Teleflora are sponsoring.
So, check out the categories.... What do you think of the Non-Mom Mom category that includes Grandparent, stepmom, or mom to adopted children ???????????????????????

EDIT : Apparently they got such a firestorm of response, they changed the category name to "Adopting Mom". Yet, it still lists grandparents and step-moms. And while that is a better label than non-mom, it still annoys me that they separated this all out into categories. Why not, just mom, period?

I get ticked about certain things and cringe sometimes over certain language that is used, but as a rule, I HATE the way we've become so darn PC in this day and age that we can't hardly say anything without offending someone. I'm not easily offended and can usually brush stuff off. That being said, this freaking pissed me off and offends me greatly.

I'm a non-mom mom???????? And my mom is as well since I was adopted? How about all of the loving step-moms out there who are sometimes the only mom that child knows? And Grandparents.... OK, so in the case of a grandchild, they aren't the mother. But, unless I'm missing something, you have to be a mom to become a Grandmother.

I'm assuming if they hold a Father's Day contest, the same categories would apply to dads. I'm sure Ferdy would beg to differ with the label that he's a non-dad dad to Gabriella. Why are there even categories????

Well, this non-mom surely won't be using Teleflora to send flowers to my own mom who's considered a non-mom to them.

Picture Catch-up

I've got pics from the last week that I haven't posted yet, so here are some. I dug out my old camera until mine is back from the factory..... but, at least I can take some indoors again.

Here is Miss G eating some "cake". She walks around the house with various plates and puts paper and whatever she can find on it and declares it to be cake!

Is this not the cutest bathing suit and grass skirt??? The best part .... With a coupon I had, it cost me 85 cents, including tax!! Gabriella absolutely loved wearing it.

Somebody needs their first haircut.

Is this a fashion statement, or what? She went into my closet and emerged wearing this. I cracked up when I saw her.

Check out this look.

This picture is a bit blurry, but I thought it was so cute. She got the newspaper, sat at her table and looked so serious reading it.

And this is the look that says "Don't even think about taking this remote from me.".

Back away from the remote.

Ooooooh, a secret compartment!

Life looks a little rough for Bing, huh?

Photo Session Anyone?

My friend Connie who took the pics of Miss G in my previous post is in the portfolio-building stage and would love some subjects to take pictures of.

Here is her website:

http://www.connierphotography.com/

She mentioned to me that she would love to get together with people who might be interested and take pictures at Leu Gardens here in town. Next week would be a good time or on a weekend(so she can leave her little one at home with someone). It would be preferable to do it soon before it gets too hot.

If anyone local might be interested, let me know.
