Getting a Little Culture

This weekend was one of the area's really big art shows/festivals. The weather yesterday was horrible and it rained all day and was cold. Today started out looking icky, but finally cleared and so we went. It was a bit chilly in the shade, but when the sun came out, it was nice. Fortunately I think because of the weather, it wasn't as horribly crowed as other times I've been. It was still interesting negotiating the crowds with a stroller, but we managed. Gabriella really loves to be outside and to have lots of people and activity around.

I was able to restrain myself and not buy yet another piece of pottery(my weakness). I did get a nice pair of earrings for my mom's birthday in April(don't worry, she doesn't have a computer, so I'm not spoiling the surprise).

We got a new kitchen sink today and while Ferdy was getting it all ready to go, Bing thought he could be of some help.


He then moved into the kitchen to help keep the towel Ferdy was using nice and warm.

We are in a new round of Secret Blog Pals now. I just received my gift from my new SBP! Thank you!! It's such an adorable outfit for Gabriella! And it even came with a sweet note than included sympathies for Ferdy that his beloved Steeler's aren't playing in the Super Bowl this weekend.

My SBP said they have 3 cats as well and are wondering about introducing them to a baby. I must say, we didn't really do much specific for that. We knew that the one cat was such a finicky loner that she would pretty much steer clear of her and she has(other than climbing in her bed the other day, but that's because G wasn't in it). The others, we weren't sure about. Bing, as you can see from all of the pics has turned out to be her buddy. Though he sometimes gets a little too comfy and she gets a handful of his hair. Kera has been very sweet too, though we watch her because she can get snippy without much warning. We just keep an eye on them when they are really close so that if she grabs them or pokes them and they swat, we are there to deflect. We do keep her door closed at night so that she doesn't have company in bed. I don't worry about that whole cat smothering the baby thing, but I sure don't care to have her and her bed covered in cat hair. Not to mention, I don't need them waking her up.

We are fine

I have gotten all kinds of phone calls and emails from people checking to make sure we are ok with the tornados that hit overnight in the area. I wanted to let everyone know that we are just fine. The really bad stuff hit north of here. We got a lot of nasty thunder, lightning and rain, but nothing more. I didn't realize what had gone on until I turned the TV on this morning. There's been non-stop coverage since then on the news.

Please say a prayer for all of the people who lost their homes and in some cases, their lives in the tornados. It's so sad.

Happy Monday...

I had to share this pic of the adorable hair bow/clip holder I ordered from eBay that I got today. I folded up the ribbons to show the butterflies at the bottom, but they will hang down once I get it on the wall. Now, she will have a place for her hair bows and barrettes to clip onto. There isn't much of a collection now, but I'm sure mommy will go nuts once she gets more hair.




I'm sure the pics of Gabriella and her LeapFrog table must be getting old, but it's her favorite spot since she can stand up and play. She's really gotten quite good and popping herself right up to a stand now.

Look ma, one hand


Just the last day or two, Gabriella will bounce up and down and "dance" if you do it and ask her to dance, especially if there's music or sound on one of her toys. It's so cute. She was doing it in the shopping cart at Target today.
