Fun With Utensils

Tonight, I gave Gabriella the spoon with mashed potatoes and let her use it. I've tried giving her the spoon before, but the food just slid off. So, Ferdy suggested waiting to try with mashed potatoes. It worked! She did manage to get the spoon to her mouth and eat the potatoes. She's got a lot of work to do to get it in right-side up and really manage it, but it's a start. By the time she was done, aye what a mess though!

I think I'll just use my hands...

She's up to about 4-5 steps now at a time. But, she's still so tenuous and wobbly. I guess one day she'll just take off.

She loves her phone. She puts it up to her ear and mumbles something into it.

Mommy, I sure like chewing on my shoes more than I like wearing them.

And here's Bing, the feline pretzel. He is literally folded up in half in this picture.

The latest thing Gabriella imitates is if you take both of your hands and put them on your head, she does the same thing, only she smacks herself pretty good when she does it. It's hilarious. I will have to try to get a picture of it.

You are braver than I. No utensils for Miss B yet. She seems to prefer chewing on her shoes to wearing them as well....

Just a suggestion on the walking, Try getting a pair of Walking shoes..They support the ankles and kids are so afraid to move. Just a try! We bought Madisyn a pair over the weekend and she is already standing alone trying to step.

Cute as a Button as ussual!

A lurker comment here...Your daughter is adorable! Look for some "toddler spoons" at your favorite discount store - Target or Wal-Mart - they have shorter handles and larger 'bowls' so Gabby will be more successful in getting food into her mouth. Yogurt is another good starter for self-feeding.

She always looks so happy in all her pics. I especially love the ones in the grass from the previous post.

Good ole Bing...nice to see he can take time out of his hectic schedule for a little endulgance.

The biggest cats squeeze themselves into the smallest spaces. Our 16 pound Fudgie actually goes in a shoe box.

Love the pink outfit and the pants. Shoes taste so yummy! She did great with a spoon. Savannah is off spoons. She will only use a fork, but prefers her hands.

As far as the teeth brushing, Savannah went through a time when she said no way, no how (maybe from February to the end of March when she got her pre-molars). I have been brushing her teeth since she was 6 months and only had two. We sing silly songs I made up and then I let her do it and she is pretty good at it. She moves the toothbrush back and forth, instead of just biting on it. She actually likes it now because I put a little bit of the toothpaste that comes with it on.
